Directs the planning, development, and operations of a program. Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies. Plans, executes, and monitors program budgets, including approval of expenditures; prepares annual financial and program reports to external parties with interests in the program. May engage in fundraising initiatives on behalf of the program. Ensures that the program is in compliance with federal and international laws and regulations. Oversees program communications, including development of communications strategies, development of key program messages, production of print and electronic materials, and reputation management. Represents the program in various national and international fora, and actively engages with representatives from other NGO's for purposes of conducting research and designing new initiatives. May supervise program staff. Performs other related duties as required.
BACKGROUND:
The Task Force for Global Heath began its work serving as Secretariat for a coalition of several multilateral organizations, achieving tremendous success in promoting immunization and other child survival activities. The Center for Vaccine Equity was founded to build on the Task Force’s experience in immunization and drug donation programs. Working through collaborative partnerships with critical stakeholders and partner organizations, the Center is focused on guiding the development of innovative vaccine procurement and delivery programs. The Associate Director for Development and Partnerships will support development and communication activities for the Partnership for Influenza Vaccine Introduction (PIVI).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Associate Director for Development and Partnerships will serve as the liaison with potential project donors. Activities include but are not limited to identification of potential donors, development and implementation of targeted donor engagement and communication strategies, development and submission of grant proposals, and management of monetary and in-kind donations. The Associate Director will have primary responsibility for project communications with key stakeholders, development and management of communication materials and media. Performs other responsibilities as required.
· Leads and manages fund raising initiatives.
· Researches and identifies potential funding sources
· Develops and implements a strategic communications plan to engage donors and other stakeholders
· Manages development of grant proposals and funding requests
· Manages monetary and in-kind project donations
· Serves as key project liaison with prospective donors
· Develops and/or oversees the development of project communication materials including press releases, web site content, briefings, reports, presentations and other targeted donor content
· Manages external consultants, interns and staff.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Participates fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health and the Center for Vaccine Equity by contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management
TRAVEL: 10- 20% Domestic and international
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and six years program as indicated and six years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master’s degree in public health or related field.
· Seven years of experience specifically related to the position.
· Demonstrated success in fundraising with emphasis on major gifts.
· Knowledge of fund raising strategies and techniques.
· Exposure and/or knowledge of Public Health
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills, able to interface with all levels of staff, donors, partners, and the public.
· Superb communication (both oral and written) skills.
